All they do is win! Win! Win! No matter what!
WOW!
What a massive and spectacular game last at Miami’s American Airline Arena! I told EVERYONE Dallas would win the 2011 NBA Championships GAME 6! What did Jason Terry, Dirk, Tyson, Marion, JJ, and the rest of the Mavs do last night?! They showed up in Heat’s House and turned on the A/C! Dallas Mavericks won!
EVERYONE was saying that Dallas was going to lose the finals because they were “too old.” The Mavericks proved last night with their historic win that “age ain’t nothing but a number.”
Of the starting five only one player is under the age of 30 (Chandler, 28).
How did Dallas win?!
Integrity
Heart
Teamwork
No Excuses
I. Integrity
The thing about the Mavericks, and Texas ideology overall, we don’t need to talk shit to prove a point (not before anyway. You never want to put your foot in your mouth… we do it after the final buzzard). Texans respect the game. As you will notice

My little (BIG) brother and me at the American Airlines Center after the Mavericks historic win. Not the best picture, but at least we were able to capture of moment with the entire City of Dallas had ONE HEART BEAT! Go Mavs!
watching all the rounds with Miami Dallas NEVER said anything negative. The team never talked about the Heat. They only counteracted after something asinine (such as LeBron claiming Dirk was faking sick) when need be. They spoke soundly, worked hard, respected each other, and respected the fans. These men are true gentlemen of the NBA.
II. Heart
Dirk doesn’t say much, if anything. Jason Terry though… he’s the mouth piece for the both of them. What really stood out about Jason (and now I understand why everyone loves his presences) is the fact that he CAME IN this game knowing they were going to win, and never let any other thought cross his mind. This level of confidence is something you cannot fake. He wasn’t talking for the cameras. He was speaking from the heart. He KNEW he they were going to win tonight. It’s that kind of confidence, heart, and leadership, that makes a champion.
III. Teamwork
These guys worked together. Unity. One heartbeat. They knew each other’s limitation, and by Game 4 they figured it all out. When people say you are only as strong as your weakest link, it’s the truth. The Mavs aren’t the fastest or youngest team in the NBA, but they are one of the smartest. You have to w

ork with what you have, understand it, mold it, and utilize it. You have to make your situation work for you. Even though the Mavericks have their limitations, they made all the team members individual skills work for them.
VI. No Excuses
For anything they did not accomplish they never made excuses. They used their drive, skill, love for the game, and overall desire of that ring to
take them home. In life you can make all the excuses that you want for why you didn’t accomplish a goal… but at the end of the day… no matter what you say, you didn’t accomplish it.
So don’t sit there and make excuses anymore. If you didn’t meet your goal for whatever reason, own it, state it, learn from it, and have those mistakes and errors elevate you to the next level. Think about it this way, a person never learned anything by doing it all right the first time. The bigger the error is on the grand scale it’s going to make a larger emotional impact on you. You will never want to make that mistake again. The Mavericks lost the championship in 2006. They know this. The whole world knows this, and this go around they took that lose, owned it, stated it, learned from it, and elevated their playing level to become the world champions of basketball.
I NEVER had a doubt that the Mavericks were going to win the championships. I knew they had this series locked up by Game 6. To be a true champion, no matter what field you’re in, one needs to grasp integrity, love for what they do, work cohesively with a group, and make no excuses for failure. Once you have achieved self actualization you will become a champion.
The Dallas Mavericks knew who they were as a team and brought that trophy home to Dallas.
Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks!
