March Madness!
I know I’m a day late! I have a PERFECTLY valid excuse! My dumbass walked into a pole at work and was rushed to the clinic by my boss because I was madly bleeding from the top of me head. Yeah, I thought I had walked far enough away from the pole, but I guess I forgot that I’m taller than what I think and I walked head first into a steel pole and had my ass knocked right into the concrete parking lot.
As I’m walking back into my building I feel something warm on my face and then I see blood dripping all over my clothes. I walk to the break room to get paper towel to put over my head and my boss sees me and rushes me to the workmen’s comp clinic to get my head check out.
Turns out it was a one millimeter scratch a little bit into my hairline, so I’m good. I feel bad for my boss because he was so worried.
That little soliloquy had NOTHING to do with the top looks of the week! I just wanted you all to know I’m not slippin’ on my duties… I’m just banging my hard head into poles
01: The Blonde Salad
Cuz my top 10 is not complete without an entry from the Blonde Salad. I’m not going to lie. I’m not a fan of Chanel, BUT I am a fan of gold, sequin, and hardware. Check out her Milly Coat. Not only do I love the way the primary colors are patterned, but I love how the gold hardware chain is added as the third primary. Not very many people can work gold sequin shoes in as an everyday look, but Chiara did it effortlessly.
02: Fast Food and Fast Fashion
I know this isn’t an overly complicated look, but that’s what makes it work. I’m a fan of olive green anything. And I actually have a Forever21 silk green shirt that is akin to that one. Funny thing is… now that I think about it… I cannot find that shirt! I LOVE it. Good thing summer isn’t here yet.
ANYWHO! I love the simplicity of the look, but she added a touch of class by pairing the blouse with her J. Crew dauphine jacket.
03: Kenza
I don’t like, one, Mr. Mickey Mouse. As a child I could not STAND is voice. Give me Bugs Bunny ANYDAY. However, I do like this outfit that Kenza’s rockin’. I always think its enjoyable when adult women find ways to rock cartoons in a fun and hip way. I love how she’s working a high fashion jacket with a tee and some classic Chucks.
04: Kenza
I love the way she wears clothes… even if they are just simple outfits. I like her tribal tank pair with some cute short cut off shorts. She finishes the look off with tan ankle boots. The boots matching her skin tone works because they elongate her legs.
05: My Style Pill
Her outfit is MY STYLE! As I stated above that I loved Kenza’s boots because they match her skin tone. Christine did the same thing here in her outfit. The BOLD yellow looks fantastic with her gold collar necklace.
06: The Satorialist
Basics are the key to a GREAT outfit. There is NOTHING amazing about her clothes, but they look FANTASTIC because she knows how to wear them.
07: Atlantic-Pacific
Atlantic-Pacific and Brooklyn Blonde look so similar to me! Meanwhile, I know before I said I wasn’t wild about Chanel, but I am wild about this tweed jacket. This is another example of how awesome one piece can make a dull outfit look like a feature in Elle.
08: Ivonne Stacy Style
You see the picture. What else can I say?!
09: My Style Pill
She really out did herself this week. She is working ALL the trends for Spring/Summer:
- Striped shirt? CHECK!
- Bold Blue Pants? CHECK!
- Color Blocking with scarf? CHECK!
- Neon Belt? CHECK!
Typically, too many trends in one outfit is horrible, but somehow homegirl managed to get it worked out!
