Urban Street Style: Episode One
As stated in my last Dear Diary post, I would be doing a Urban Street Style segment on my blog. I’m not sure how often I will be doing these, but I hope to make a habit of it.
Not only do I like to draw inspirations for fashion from my own creativity, but from the people around me. My friends, especially, have a FANTASTIC sense of style. Each person I know executes it differently and effectively. Fashion is art and it’s going to look different on every person.
Mid Rise (Calves) boots
This is my lovely soror sister, Krystal . She a natural body that runway models would envy and haute couture fashion designers would kill for.
These are a shot or her killer shoes. These black strappy peep toed mid rise (aka calf boot) are FANTASTIC. Here she is rockin’ a modern version cowgirl look, but urbanizing it with these great black boots. I forgot to inquire where she bought them from. Perhaps she’ll read this blog and let me know later.
Peep Toe’d Ankle Boots
These are a FANTASTIC find by my first college roommate and fashionista extraordinaire, Shayla. Honestly Shayla really needs to have her own fashion blog because this girl is colorful, takes no prisoners, and always on point. I LOVE how she’s not afraid to try new things, and how she manipulates color in her wardrobe.
Here Ms. Shayla is rockin’ a peep toe olive green ankle bootie. I am missing the absolute correct word in which describing these shoes, but I’m sure it will come to me as soon as I hit the “publish” button. The word is HARDWARE! I LOVE the hardware that make up her shoe! ***Got ‘em coach!!!***
The material of her shoes is fantastic. It’s appears to be an olive green canvas. The studs make it tough and the chain adds a dramatic flair that sets this ankle boot apart. I’m really loving how the brown straps correlate with the rest of the shoe.
The bangles featured, again, belong to Shayla. She has a real knack in the details. I LOVE all these bracelets especially the double headed tiger bangle. Much to my surprise she informed me that the Tiger bangle came from SteinMart. I personally, don’t make an effort to go into that store… really because it reminds me of old lady wear… but Shayla assured me that they have fantastic accessories (I must put it on my to-do list.) The other two bracelets are from Forever21. Below are two pics… one with a flash and one without it.
Not in Public:
I LOVE Hello Kitty as much as the next person, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to be wearing these Hello Kitty house shoes (even though they are super cute) out to Dave and Busters on a Saturday night!
