Spread the Love: DaniellaChristina1
YouTube is an ever growing median used primarily by Generation Y’ers. We use this site to promote our lives, work, and beliefs. YouTube is a new form of media that, in essence, “we” control. Many people are using YouTube to invoke and promote self awareness in each other.
Daniella Christina is a Capricorn (I knew I liked her for some reason) who describes her channel as,
Christina says a number of things that really stick out in this video,
“Know who your role model is… know who you are looking up too… know what’s real and what’s not.”
People these days, not just young girls, are confusing what the real definition of beauty is. It’s true what she says, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,” and the media likes us to conform to ONE TYPE of beauty. However, how can there be ONE type of beauty? How is there a perfect complexion, one type of nose, hair color, breast size, waist size? This can’t happen! There are about 6.9 billion people on the planet Earth… how can ANY ONE PERSON standardize the conception of beauty?
One can’t. It’s IMPOSSIBLE.
To really LOVE yourself… one has to respects themselves… and accept who they are and what they look like. We all aren’t the same. I thank God for that. The media wants us to feel insecure, because at the end of the day it makes us buy more clothes, make-up, jewelry, breast implants, butt implants, collagen, and whatever else we feel we need to be like the next person. We have to fight against the status quo. Don’t let ANYONE tell you who you’re supposed to be.
Daniella is right… realize who you are looking up too. Heidi Montage? Lil Kim? Pamela Anderson? Remember these celebrities PAY to look like this. They have glam squads. At the end of the day these celebrities are changing their bodies out of insecurity from the same source, the media. Think… what are they REALLY doing to make you want to be just like them?
Don’t modify who you are to satisfy the likes of others. Those people aren’t you and will NEVER be you. Does Kim Kardashian really care if you strive to look like her? NO! There is only one her. You can’t be her. Be you. Set yourself apart from the herd. Be the difference. Don’t follow the cookie cutter crowd.
Don’t let the MEDIA take control of who you are. Don’t let ANYONE define who you are, what you look like, and how you should act.
You have to admit, Daniella Christina is pretty insightful for a young lady at the tender age of 17.
