So this weekend not only did I rock my Hello Kitty inspired outfit. I wore it to check out the VintageMobile.
I first read about the VintageMobile from Jane (Sea of Shoes). The Vintagemobile is EXCATLY what it reads and looks like. It’s a vintage school bus that doubles as a vintage boutique. The creative duo behind
this concept are newlyweds Kelsey and Jeremy. They explained to me they were really inspired create their mobile treasure chest during their honeymoon to the West Coast. Unfortunately I don’t remember all the details of this conversation because (a) I’m not a reporter, and (b) I executed three photo shoots since meeting them so my mind is EVERYWHERE. I mainly remember that I loved them.
Let met ell you guys this bus is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. What I love? It reminds me of Austin. There is something so free and fun about the bus. I’m not sure if it was the clothes, the color, or the fantastic personalities of Kelsey and Jeremy, but the whole idea is great.
The Vintagemobile houses a lot of cool clothes. As much as I love fashion my favorite item will be (and forever will be) the T-shirt. I LOVE t-shirts! My favorite shirt? The fluorescent rainbow colored D.A.R.E shirt. That one is AMAZING, and if one of you guys buy it please let me know!
I not only love clothes, but I am a self confessed accessories junkie. They have an excellent collection of 50’s glasses, but my favorite items where the sunburst brooch (since I now collect vintage brooches) and the HUGE lion buckle. The buckle is defiantly something I could see Jane from Sea of Shoes rocking.
The Vintagemobile also host a small section of non fashion related items. They had a good collection of vintage memorabilia. My favorite was the Kodak instagram. I think that camera is something SammyD could really appreciate.
I also love this unique store because I love supporting local businesses. This is also the same reason I love Strut. I am willing to pay a little more to support others in their endeavors.
I would highly suggest you guy check out this unique store and support the owners. Also, check out their blog. It highlights more about the couple and the work they put into creating the Vintagemobile. I do want to warn you that everything is in the bus and it does get hot in there. The couple did have a cooler full of the good stuff (water you lushes), and across the street you can also find some yummy snow cones!
