Are You Ready for Some FOOTBALL?!
I’m not. In fact my stomach is churning UPSIDE DOWN! I am telling you, my people in Austin get me into so much trouble. They make my liver want to throw up an “I quit” sign! I like Dallas, but Austin is my home. My friends, who are just like my family, are always there whenever I need them. They always have my back.
Case in point, I went to see a friend’s band play on 7th street Friday night. I parked in a parking spot that was not clearly indicated that you couldn’t park there and my car got towed. Since I didn’t bring any major cash with me I had to call one of the besties to come help me out. This friend in particular works until 11:30 PM. She was coming from South Austin, drove me to North Austin to get my cash, to where we drive all the way to DEEP SOUTH AUSTIN to get my car. $193.25 later! I could go on and on about complaining… but I won’t.
I went to Austin to shoot my first engagement session. The couple was much fun… I will give you guys a sneak peek later this week.
After the shoot I was on a COMPLETION HIGH and I decided that I wanted to try my luck at some thrift stores. I mean… Austin is supposed to have some of the best thrift store, right? Well, I stop into Texas Thrift Store near Capitol Plaza and within 2 minutes of stepping inside I found the black sequin blazer I have been on the search for! The blazer was originally $25, but they were having a 50% off sale so I got the bad boy for $12.50! The blazer is pictured above… but I will give you guys’ better pictures later.
Later that day I ate ceviche from a supermercado and knocked out until later that night.
I stopped into Chilies where I met my girl and then we headed to Sherlocks. At Sherlocks we hooked up with two more old school homies.
Since the bars close at 2 AM in Texas we moved the party to my hotel room. Since this is Austin we are talking about… my friends ride around with bottles of vodka and rum in their trunks just in case an impromptu party occurs (hey, you always have to be prepared)! We had so much fun making fun of each other and talking shit.
Of course we got hungry and I polished of the night with chirizo, bell peppers, and potatoes!
My friends and I departed around 5:30 AM.
It was such a good night and I had so much. As I do every time I’m in town, and I get to hang with my friends.
The photos below are from Kung-Fu which is an FREAKIN’ AWESOME BAR in Austin. Next time I’m in town I’m going to go bar hoping. I will list my 5 favorite bars in the city. I loved Kung-Fu because it’s a ode to 70’s and 80’s video games. This place is BEYOND FUCKIN’ AWESOME! You have to go!
