Every fashionable girl has their version of the Little Black Dress. It’s a given, a staple, something that you know will always look great, no matter the occasion. But in the ridiculous heat that Austin has been exeriencing lately (not that I am really complaining – I don’t like the cold AT ALL), black just feels too heavy. I want something light and airy, something that just floats around me rather than making some huge, major statement. Enter the Little White Dress. The one flaw in the LWD is that you cannot wear it to a wedding (unless the bride is incredibly laid back). But other than that, hello barbecues, clam bakes, Sunday brunches, Tuesday morning meetings and great date nights!
Absolutely perfect for a concert at sunset, margaritas on the beach or some brunching with cute wedges or flip-flops. I would even wear this while trekking around a new town on vacation with a huge sunhat. There is something so inviting yet exotic about it, as if this girl just got back from Cancun with wild stories. via
Here is a great dress for that evening cocktail hour or formal gathering. White is so unexpected in evening wear, so you really don’t need to pile on tons of jewelry or totally crazy shoes. The simple cut helps to keep the focus on you. via
I want to rock this as a club SO freaking badly!!!! This dress would make me feel like an awesome ice-queen – you can look, but you can’t touch! via
Spent the weekend getting a great tan and sad about going back to work? This dress will show off your color perfectly (and if you are naturally dark-skinned, it will be soooo flattering), but the cut is totally work appropriate. Keep a cute cardigan around to ward off office chills, and prepare to get massive compliments. via
I just love this dress. Although I would probably get it in black 😉 via
Another fun club dress. For all that the sleeves are long, the chest is covered, and the length is not short, this dress feels so scandalous because of the waist cut-outs. This would be more of a “posting-up” dress than a dancing dress for me. I could just picture myself standing by a bar, sipping on my vodka martini, and pretending the quiet indifference that all of the cool girls seem to have naturally. via
This would be my go-to for meeting the parents, without a doubt. It is so sweet and cute, but not too diva-ish, as a black dress might be. This just screams innocent and virginal (whether that it the case or not, well, they don’t need to know). Throw this on with a beat-up jean jacket, and copy the model with some red sandals, and you are set. via
