I haven’t created a Top 10 of the week since some point in January. Now in January I started going through a transition (which should be done no later than July) so I have been backing off the blog just a tiny bit. However, the other day I noticed a surge in page views… and as the blogger I am went to figure out where these views where coming from.
Turns out I was placed on a Top 100 list from by the beauty that is Words of Wardrobe. She featured a list of the Top 100 blogs ran by girls of color. Which I thought was really amazing. Truth be told I have been looking for more blogs of the urban fashion variety. Simply because I just like to get a fresh perspective on fashion from others’ eyes. One gets tired of the beautiful blondes of New York after awhile.
Hey, let’s just be honest here!
From her Top 100 list I actually subbed to 30 NEW BLOGS! You gotta love BlogLovin’! So now I have even more bloggers to choose from. Hopefully my Top 10 list won’t be as mundane.
In honor of this list I have picked 10 of my favorite looks from the new bloggers!
In all cases I just loved their innovative style!
01: From the Rez to the City
First of all, Kiah was the clear winner for the week. Geez this woman has style that is next to NONE! She is exactly what it means to wear fashion at ANY SIZE. If you think this look is gorgeous you really need to check out the rest of her looks. This girl simply SLAYS in EVERY ensemble she sports. I must bow down to the new queen of gorgeous!
What makes this look amazing is the fact that she managed to make a mundane neutral look pop! Let’s be honest, white, black, and tan can be a bit drab but it’s really all in the way you style it. Her heels with harlem pants is cute. However, I am LOVING the ASOS Curve belt. It’s so hardware. The earrings that compliment it give it a solid but feminine curve.
All hail the queen!
02: Ria Michelle
Hardware Necklace? CHECK!
Black and White Tee? CHECK!
Leather Jacket? CHECK!
Sequin Leggings? CHECK!
Ummmmm… what’s not to love about this look?
03: J’adore Fashion
Orange is one of the prettiest colors a woman of color can wear. It’s really makes the skin pop. This beautiful asymmetrically flowy dress does nothing but wonders for her pregnant frame. I just love how angelic she looks.
04: Girls off Fifth
This is street style to the fullest. I am feeling this fun look. This would be great for concerts.
05: Grown & Curvy Woman
How much do you love the colors here?! I am a FAN of bold bright colors. I actually wish I could pull something like this off. You know… Korin style. LOL I am really loving the City Chic pastel skirt. That is something I would rock with a white racerback and heavy hardware accessories to a Sunday Brunch.
06: My Voguish Diaries
Medge is doing it coming correct. This is the perfect way to transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring. She is rocking colored jeans from Forever 21 with a white tank. However, she is still keeping the cool black and steel pumps and black blazer. She keeps it simple with the classic door knocker earrings.
07 & 08: Mattieologie
Expect the unexpected. I love sporting shirts with American icons on them. Case in point with Marilyn and Minnie. With Minnie I love how she magically makes this look work with white cheetah sports, a beanie, and a hardware chain.
I just love when bloggers sports some of the same pieces in other post. She sports this same chain in her Marilyn shirt. FYI… she created that Tee and she has it for sale on her site!
09: Island Chic 77
So by now you guys know my weakness. Hardware, Clutches, and biker jackets. This is my uniform. I love how Kelly managed to make this look even more dramatic with a studded biker jacket, cobalt blue button up and striped black and white pants.
How much do you love that blog name? LOL! I am a fan of mixing prints that share the same color scheme. What makes it pop out even more is the fact that it forms to her body very well. No. I did not forget her Louboutin heels.
Let me know which lady donned the best look to you!
