Bachelorette Party Dresses

My sorority sister is getting married later this month and this weekend is her Bachelorette Party!  Let me be honest, I haven’t been out in a hot minute.  The invite advised that the attendees of this party must wear black while the bride will be rocking red.  Well, that sucks.  All my party dresses are in a color.  By all my party dresses I mean I only have one that I can fit into right now and it’s a purple bondage dress from Forever 21.

Therefore the only natural thing to do is go internet shopping.

Who has the best party dresses that don’t look cheap?  Bebe.  Bebe is the first place I internet window shop before I go anywhere else, mainly because they have the cutest party dresses that don’t make you look like you’re walking the streets.

Since I have the requirement of not wearing color I had to find a cute black bondage dress.  I was able to find this one.  It’s the Triangle Double Layer Dress.  I picked this dress because I loved how the geometric shape highlighted all the best parts of the female body.  I am also loving the oversize cut out in the back.  I honestly have no idea what shoes I’m going to wear with this dress how or how I’m even going to rock it.  The weather is supposed to be colder and trust me as I get older I will always pick warmth over cutestness.

I also purchased this super cute aurora bondage dress.  I believe this dress is going to look amazing against my skin color.  I plan to get a lot of mileage out of this bad boy.  I want to take it to San Diego, Japan, and maybe if I go out for St. Patricks Day.  Had there not been a stipulation on the color of the party dress there is probably would I would have warn.

Here are more bachelorette ready party dresses that Bebe that I also adored.  Just click the picture and it will link you to the dress on their site for additional photos and pricing.  I will let you know that most of these dresses are under $100 right now.

Like RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW from 9PM ET-5AM EST Bebe is having an extra 20% of regular priced items on their site.  So with that I ordered my dresses.

The Fashionista’s of Dallas

DSC_3477

Dallas is finally moving in the direction of catwalk meets sidewalk.  Earlier this month I was invited to the first Fashion Friday of 2014 at Fedora’s in Dallas.  The Fashionista’s placed on a good show and I really liked the outfits featured.  Since I came more as a spectator getting the details of the show that people look over… the details of design of not only the model but the voyeurs.  Yes, I am so busy because I have photoshoots every other day now.  Sorry this took so long to make it to the blog!

I plan to check out the Fashionista’s as often as possible if the designs, atmosphere, and people are this great!

Yes, I know before I got busy with photography I was going to a lot of fashion outings in Dallas. I plan to start doing that again soon!

Happy Saturday!

A Fashionable Sunday

DSC_9997-Edit

Sunday was such a beautiful day. My friend and favorite MUA in Dallas Jazzy and I decided to go to hit up Buzzbrew’s brunch together. I LOVE just sitting around with friends and catching up on their lives. I love hearing about relationships and their work and/or business ventures over a great meal.

Best Dallas MUA, Dallas Male Urban Fashion

Had I been thinking beforehand I would have gotten a list of what Jazzy was wearing that day. Don’t you just LOVE his fashion sense? Jazzy is like a walking, living, breathing, fashion editorial. I LOVE his sense of style. I mean the kid is FRESH. TO. DEATH. For now on I will make sure I get a photo of what Jazzy is wearing every time we see each other. My favorite part of Jazzy’s outfit is the knock off Birkin.

Ralph Lauren Windowpane Top, Aldo Bag, Enzo Shoes, Guess

For me: I know the Windowpane look is in for the season… and even though I am not a trendy person I have to say that I LOVE it. My mom actually thrifted this shirt about 4 years ago, and it’s my most favorite clothing item she has ever given to me. Mainly I discourage my mom from buying any fashion items for me, ESPECIALLY SHOES, but she hit the nail right on the head with this Ralph Lauren button up. I LOVE IT. I would rock it every day if it were socially accepatableacceptable. Of course I am wearing my favorite purchase of 2013, my gray H&M skinny jeans! I swear the best $20 I have spent all year. The bag was a Black Friday score from Aldo ($20 baby!) and the shoes are Enzo Angiolini by way for Ross!

Dallas Flea, November 2013

Dallas Flea November 2013

The last Dallas Flea market of the year!  I am so excited as I’m probably going to pick up a lot of cool items and perhaps some art this time around.  Based on the flier it seems as though the Dallas Flea will be moving locations next year.  I’m super excited to see where the new location will be held!

See You There!

On Thursday October 03, 2013 my soror and I went to see DJ Lo Down Lorretta Brown (aka Erykah Badu) spin at the new Monroe Lounge in Dallas.

Now if you haven’t been to the Monroe Lounge yet just know this is where the old Wish Ultra Lounge spot used to be. Apparently Wish closed down right after New Years 2013 and I want to say that Monroe had it’s grand opening July 2013.

I don’t know who did the décor for the spot, but it is AMAZING! I have to say this place looks NOTHING like Wish. They gutted it and gave it a cool LA meets New York vibe. The bar has completely moved locations within the venue, but there is a HUGE DJ boot that can watch the entire club. There is plethora of reserved only seating where one spot is really no better than the other… unless you have the spot right in front of the DJ.

Lorretta Brown came out to play to help raise money for HBU (Historical Black Universities) for Tom Joyner’s Foundation School of the Month Campaign, and Badu’s B.L.I.N.D nonprofit organization.

I can safely say the event was a success! Outside of the awesome music provided by Ms. Brown I have to say the FOOD was amazing. Especially the bruchetta! I have NEVER tasted bruchetta that amazing in my life! My soror asked the chef what he put in it… but he wouldn’t tell.

Light the Fire

DSC_7404-Edit

About three weeks ago I got talked into attending a metal concert.

Please don’t ask because I’m still confused on how that happened.

Actually I’m not.  A cute guy asked and I said yes.

Plus it would give my the opportunity to practice my concert photography skills.

We went to Light the Fire’s CD release concert.  To be quite honest the whole event was fun and entertaining… minus the whole pushing for fun thing.  Is that normal at medal concerts?

Since I don’t listen to medal music I had no idea what to wear so asked me friend.  He suggested not to worry about it… that most people there would most likely have holes in their shirts and look dingy anyway.

While most people weren’t particularly dressed up no one looked noticeable dingy.

Then again it was pretty dark.

But there is one person who was dressed like a true hipster.

He had a fedora, the ironic t-shirt (a purple Justin Bieber concert shirt… how he found it in his size is beyond me), high-water jeans, ugly shoes, and suspenders.  Of course he was rocking the ironic beard.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  If you want to dress like a hipster do your thing… but at least match.  I think that’s what got to me the most… he didn’t match.

Anywho the tank was a gift from my bro who went to Miami last month and picked up a gang of new shirts for me.  I rock the shirts during my shoots, except for this shirt and another one.  Why… because pictures on them are not  family appropriate.  My bro is the only one in my family that can pick out cool clothes for me.

Sober Sunday Funday

DSC_7529

Well, the day after the metal concert  I attended (post on that later this week) one of my sorority sisters came back into town for a quick visit.  She wanted to meet up for a sober Sunday brunch as she needed to drive back out of state.  We ended up going to Torchy’s Tacos.  I had never been to that place before but I am sure happy I did.

Torchy’s was AMAZING.

I tired three different tacos, the democrat, the crossroads, and just a regular breakfast taco.  I ordered three because I didn’t know how filling two tacos weas going to be.  Let me tell you, two was more than enough.  I considered requesting for a to-go box for the last taco, but my sorors twin brother was there and he joked that there was no way I could eat three tacos.  I am not a person who likes to be challenged so I got into touch with my inner Ms. Piggy and punished that taco!

Probably not one of the better decisions I made, but it’s not the worst.

The taco was delicious.

Honestly, I hate the smell of food in my car anyway.

For the record… there was more than 2 Guns in that movie…

DSC_7705-Edit

So Tam and I went to the movies Friday because I have about 5 Groupons to Studio Movie Grill that I needed to burn in the next 6 days. We went to see 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Marky Mark. While it wasn’t the worst movie in the world it wasn’t shooting for any Oscar noms wither. To be fair I would watch it again. It was a fun anti-buddy movie. I had a great time with it and Mark Wahlberg is just so charismatic on screen. You could tell the pair had a ton of fun while filming this movie. I found myself smiling through the whole things because of the interaction between the duo.  If you have a chance to see it I would say that it definitely worth the price of admission.

About we week ago I dropped $21 and ordered this necklace and a pair of earrings. While, I was just expecting one pair of earrings I was given three by the company. While that is great I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. Not only does it feel cheap it looks even cheaper in person. I hate to be brutally honest but I would never purchase another item from this store again.
