Light the Fire

DSC_7404-Edit

About three weeks ago I got talked into attending a metal concert.

Please don’t ask because I’m still confused on how that happened.

Actually I’m not.  A cute guy asked and I said yes.

Plus it would give my the opportunity to practice my concert photography skills.

We went to Light the Fire’s CD release concert.  To be quite honest the whole event was fun and entertaining… minus the whole pushing for fun thing.  Is that normal at medal concerts?

Since I don’t listen to medal music I had no idea what to wear so asked me friend.  He suggested not to worry about it… that most people there would most likely have holes in their shirts and look dingy anyway.

While most people weren’t particularly dressed up no one looked noticeable dingy.

Then again it was pretty dark.

But there is one person who was dressed like a true hipster.

He had a fedora, the ironic t-shirt (a purple Justin Bieber concert shirt… how he found it in his size is beyond me), high-water jeans, ugly shoes, and suspenders.  Of course he was rocking the ironic beard.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  If you want to dress like a hipster do your thing… but at least match.  I think that’s what got to me the most… he didn’t match.

Anywho the tank was a gift from my bro who went to Miami last month and picked up a gang of new shirts for me.  I rock the shirts during my shoots, except for this shirt and another one.  Why… because pictures on them are not  family appropriate.  My bro is the only one in my family that can pick out cool clothes for me.

For the record… there was more than 2 Guns in that movie…

DSC_7705-Edit

So Tam and I went to the movies Friday because I have about 5 Groupons to Studio Movie Grill that I needed to burn in the next 6 days. We went to see 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Marky Mark. While it wasn’t the worst movie in the world it wasn’t shooting for any Oscar noms wither. To be fair I would watch it again. It was a fun anti-buddy movie. I had a great time with it and Mark Wahlberg is just so charismatic on screen. You could tell the pair had a ton of fun while filming this movie. I found myself smiling through the whole things because of the interaction between the duo.  If you have a chance to see it I would say that it definitely worth the price of admission.

About we week ago I dropped $21 and ordered this necklace and a pair of earrings. While, I was just expecting one pair of earrings I was given three by the company. While that is great I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. Not only does it feel cheap it looks even cheaper in person. I hate to be brutally honest but I would never purchase another item from this store again.

Chanel Tank Top?

UrbanJungleFashion

Yesterday I told you guys about the 40% sale at Milk + Honey located in Dallas (btw the sale is on until tomorrow 07/28/2013) and the top is what I picked up.  I have to admit that LOVE this tank.  It’s criss-crossed in the back (not shown in pictures)  and feels so good on the skin!  The best part?!…  100% Made in America.  The only downside is that I still shelled out $25 for a top that was on sale (yes I’m super cheap), but I have to admit that I am happy with my purchase.

I actually rocked this outfit last night at the Dress Dallas 2013.  This event is headed up by my friend and American Idol contestant, Vincent Powell.  I couldn’t stay for the entire event but I wanted to get some shots in for my blog and be able to practice taking runway pictures.  I will post the pictures and more info about the Dress Dallas tomorrow.

Happy New Years Eve!

DSC_0043

Dayum!

Seriously?! Is it ALREADY New Years Eve?! I’m supposed to be having a party tonight… and I have to clean clean clean clean CLEAN!

LOL

I just always wait for the last minute.

Well, I wanted to show you guys what I ended up wearing to the End of the World Soiree I attended on December 21,2012. I had A TON of fun at the party and got to meet a TON of new people… not even a quarter of them where featured in these pictures.

So I was thinking this party had to be extra fancy.

No. I was wrong.

There were people who showed up in pajamas. Others showed up in Halloween costumes! It was hilarious! I just had a blast overall.

The dress I rocked is one I wore New Years 2010. Since I hadn’t really worn it since then I thought I should take it out of retirement versus spending the money AND time on shopping for a new dress.

For my actual New Years outfit I’m debating between two dresses. A navy one that I haven’t touched in two years… or a purple one I bought some months back. Whichever dress I wear I just wanna be all fashioned out! LOL!

Do you guys know what you are wearing for New Years yet? Do me favor… can everyone link down and comment with their links on what they wore New Years?! I would LOVE to see all the styles!

Also, enjoy the photo diary!

Sorry for the lack of outfit post this week. Yes, I have a reason… It’s not good, it’s just a reason. LOL. Monday I was asked to go out on an impromptu Happy Hour. So when I got home I quickly changed from my work garb to my uniform or skinny jeans, jacket, and heels. We had so much fun talking, drinking, and watching Monday Night Football. Now let me explain to all you non-Texans out there. FOOTBALL is a HUGE deal here. So when you start drinking during a game… you start drinking. I forgot who was even playing to be honest. Meanwhile, during half time we left the restaurant went back to my place and continued drinking until we passed out.

Yes, this was Monday.

Drinking so much on Monday left me HIGHLY dragging on Tuesday. I could still feel the rum, vodka, tequila, coke, and orange juice in my system. As soon as I got home I just fell out, until 9:30 PM and I could not go back to bed until 2AM… to wake up only hours later to go to work…

Long story short this pattern is why I haven’t posted any OOTDs. Due to excessive drinking on a work night I left me dragging for the rest of the week. I typically take my photos after work. Friday is the first I have felt “normal.”

This outfit is a recreation of what I wore on Monday. I actually sported different earrings and bracelet, but in my drunken stupor I have misplaced everything. *ugh*

What did I learn from this experience?

I’m not 21 anymore.

No more drinking heavily on Mondays.

Dirty 30!

So on Saturday one of my boys from university had his Dirty 30 party. Well, my girl and I get there so late. And by late it was 9:30 PM. Everyone was already passed out drunk! When we finally go to their apartment it looked like the day after tomorrow. We were like…

What.

The.

Fuck.

Happened

?!

It was pure hilarity.

No one could be found.

So my friend and I started taking random pictures around the apartment.

That was until the birthday boy finally stirred.

He’s the one in the middle picture.

Even though his apartment was bone dry of drank we still had a fantastic time.

And yes

That is a D.A.R.E shirt!

Swagga School is now in session!

I had to add Sean Paul’s song We Be Burning b/c that CD was playing on loop the entire time!

Awesome

I know… it’s nothing epic, more themed, but it was my outfit of the night for seeing the Dark Knight Rises.

My brother and I caught the 11:59 PM show last night.

 My Review: I loved it.

I loved all the characters: Tom Hardy as Bane was incredible and Anna Hathaway as Catwoman was simply phenomenal.

I seriously love Joseph Gordon Levitt as an actor, but in this movie he was a true force. I never took my eyes off of him.

The movie is 2 hours and 45 minutes long,  and it didn’t feel like it at all. There was not one part in the movie that dragged a bit. It was very clear story telling. The movie was, in my opinion, very artistic. I LOVED the simplicity of the score. The movie was very moving, stoic, and quiet. I know the word quiet it really hard to interpret when you speak about a movie, especially Batman, but trust me. You will understand.

These superhero movies are getting better. While the Avengers was a good, fun, and loud movie. Batman is the similar but done with more of an adult flair. It actually reminded me a lot of X-Men First Class, but even better. Mind you, I LOVED X-man First Class.

I don’t want to give away anything about this movie, but it’s worth seeing. At least catch it matinee. I promise you won’t feel like you wasted your time or money.
