Yeah, I’m going to do it – I’m going to drop a Vogue cover right after K does, and say that mine is a better choice. Don’t get me wrong, I like Scarlett Johannson; however, I miss Lost in Translation Scarlett. I want the awesome, funny, intellectual, hesitant woman back. So instead of trying to make her into something she no longer is, I found a new muse – Emma Stone.

Now tell me that this woman is not ridiculously awesome. She is effortlessly beautiful, incredibly funny, graceful and she lives her life without drama. That is a woman I can get behind. And with Mario Testino (totally the master) looking through the lens, these photos are truly works of art. Here’s to you Emma.

The Sexy Seven!

Gawsh last week went by so fast and it’s already Sunday evening! I have been moving and cleaning all freakin’ weekend in preparation to my exchange student coming. I think it may be about that time to pop open a bottle of wine and call it an evening. However, I just have soooooooooo much the hell to do. I even went to work today cuz I had a feeling I would wake up late on Monday cuz I’m still working overtime on my apartment.

Sorry for the little soliloquy.

You will notice a trend with all my bloggers this week: nice, simple, bold colors. All of them are rockin’ simple outfits that speak louder than words.

Here are my top blogger fashion picks of the week. This week I could not find 10 people, so you are stuck with the top seven looks (one for each day of the week).

This Week’s Winner…

It’s no doubt that Rumi from Fashiontoast has an elevated sense of style that most of use wish we could hoan. Here we have Rumi rockin’ a white BCBG dress with silver sequin in the back. It’s beautiful, airy, short, and glamorous. This dress incorporates all my favorite things.

Wendy looks all sorts of amazing in this simple colorful number. She’s taking color blocking to a whole new level. Ladies, please follow Wendy’s lead. If you are going to wear super short shorts with sky high heels, you need a long sleeved top. In this event Wendy opted for a peacock blue Zara blazer.

If Carmen Sandiego breed a hot young daughter she would look exactly like Jasmine. I’m loving this dress paired with a leopard print belt and chunky open toed leopard print heels. She looks like the cat’s meow.

Natalie is working it! Again, a nice simple summer outfit. I’m LOVING the green shorts with white top. However, the necklace is what brings everything together. Mami is looking muy caliente!

Shea Marie is looking amazing. I love this new take on the simple white shirt. There are eyelid cut outs below the shoulder. However, I’m LOVING that scarf from Aldo the best.

Andy of course makes the list! She is looking super simple and pretty in pink skinny jeans and white shirt during Copenhagen fashion week. Sometimes keeping it simple is more fashionable than flashy.

Natalie again rockin’ a cute look with wide leg shorts, white tank, and a natural off the shoulders cable knit top.

Have a blessed week guys!

It’s Fuego in Dallas… and so are these jeans!

I have been meaning to write up this piece since the moment I walked out of Blue Jeans Bar. If you are an avid reader of my blog you know I have been all over the place… photo shoots, traveling, getting ready for my exchange student… so not one second was wasted on laying around eating potato chips.

I digress…

The women who make up Hip Chixs are Aimee and Megan. They met as roommates at Baylor University, grew into friends, and developed a relationship as business partners. This jeans line is four years in the making… and let me tell you guys… it’s well worth the time and effort they put into their product.

Now nothing in this country is more American than jeans. Ask Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss.

What do I love most about this line?

I LOVE the fact that it’s a WOMAN created and run line that consists of JUST Aimee and Megan. I LOVE that fact that the jeans are AMERICAN MADE (in California). I LOVE the fact that these two women show that it’s possible to be a working mom and STILL have time for a blossoming career. I LOVE the fact they prove that staying persistant and dedicated to your work it WILL pay off.

What’s even better? Speaking to people who KNOW their product. As a child that grew up in a military family and the daughter of a man who turned into an international sales manager… I can tell when one is bullshitting and when one knows what they are talking about. These ladies right here, they know what they are doing. They know their product well. They explained to me in extreme detail how the jeans are made, the materials used, the factories, even down to the details of where the hardware comes from (Italy). Now for the record, I am a HARD sale. However, they weren’t trying to sale me. They were educating me. The duo explained to me WHY they had premium denim. Trust me boys and girls if a product is not good, especially jeans, I would be the first to tell you. In this case the ladies of Hip Chixs make me want to tell Wendy, Dulce, Chiara, and Chiara about how fantastic this line is. Only problem… for you that is… they only sale locally in Dallas. =( They currently do not have an online store yet, but that’s for good reason. They want to manifest their line in Dallas first before going nationally and then internationally.

As you can tell in the pictures below the jeans are nice, smooth, and soft. They come at price, but from a jean connoisseur, I’d rather have one pair of these than 15 of anything else (Levi’s not included). The jeans come in two colors (that I saw) a classic soft indigo and a (dare I say vintage-y) grayish color. I still remember how smooth to the touch they are.

These jeans are not one I would ever machine wash. I personally would DRY CLEAN ONLY these babies. I would never want to hinder the color.

As stated before, the jeans can only be found locally at Blue Jeans Bar in Snider Plaza. They are more than well worth the money and investment.

Top Blogger Looks of the Week…

I really need to be running, but I didn’t want to take another day off from the blog. I want to be known as being consistent.  The last couple of weeks I have not completed my Something to Wear Sunday Sections. That’s because I really felt limited. Plus, it felt kind of annoying to pick an outfit for every days of the week. So instead I’m going to highlight the top 10 outfits of the bloggers I follow for this week! This works because it’s easier on me and you guys get three more outfits to choose from! I’m going to do it this style for the rest of August and then determine if I like it or not.

None the less here are my 10 ten picks!

Number Uno!

Wida from Missing Amsie. Wida’s blog is named after her sister Amsie whom she dedicates her work too. I love her blog because she has impeccable style. The feature style screams KORIN. This is something I would wear with not one change. I think any of my friends would agree her look is so me. I LOVE wearing shorts with high heels and a casual but sexy shirt. Something that screams… I know I’m hot… no need to show it all off.

On top that, bia has KILLER legs. WERK!

Favorite Piece: EVERYTHING!!!!!

Number Dos…

Andy from Style Scrapbook. Andy is just all over the map. You can call her a globtrotter. What made me fall in love with this look are the shoes. I am a shoe junkie! Anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis knows that I am NOT a fan of animal print ANYTHING. I think animal print can make a woman look… ummm… trampy loose… real quick. Animal print is something one REALLY has to be careful with. However, Andy does it right. She has this magnifent and subtle outfit and then brings out the sexy with these five inch YSL shoes. She does the shoes justice by pairing them with her Alexander McQueen bag.

Favorite Piece: The Shoes… duh!

The main problem I had with this look… deciding on which photo I should use. Wendy is no doubt one of my favorite bloggers. She is just a wonderful person. You can gather all this from the way she writes and her personality through her YouTube videos. She has a fantastic sense of style. This look right here. My jaw dropped. It really did. I wore a look KINDA similar this past weekend. I am actually going to do an outfit of the day with is this weekend and a YouTube video… but I digress…

It takes REAL talent to do shabby chic. Not to many can get away with it… but not only did Wendy get away with it, she staked her claim. Just looking her her wearing it makes me feel so free. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’m jealous of her Indian summers. While she gets the cool Cali breeze I’m stuck in my 100 degree plus Texas weather.

Favorite Piece: ALL OF IT!

By now you should all know I am a fan of Tanesha. She bodly states, through fashion, that girls with curves are sexy! Just because they are not a size 4 they doesn’t mean they can’t rock with the best of them. I LOVE this outfit because she pairs primary colored strips together (of different thicknesses) for a classic Americana look.

I know the big thing now is tying the front of the shirt in a knot (not a personal fan of it), but Tanesha actually does it right.

Favorite Piece: Navy and White Nautical Cardigan

It’s Tanesha again. Why I love this outfit? Because I like things that sparkle. It makes me happy. No, I am serious, but I really love how the high waisted loosely pleated skirt slims down her body. Woman of curves should really invested in high waisted pants and skirts because it actually works well with your body.

This is fantastic out of the town outfit.

Favorite Piece: Tie between the sequin top and the Gucci clutch

Kendi in her very lady like outfit. I have no idea why I like it so much. It just works. I LOVE the contrasting patterns, yet the color scheme works flawlessly. I’m loving the fact she wore nude wedges to tone it down a level. This outfit is a real win.

Favorite Piece: The Skirt

I feel in love with Alicia’s blog about a month back.  I also  featured her on my blog before. I’m loving this outfit because it reminds me of Austin, Texas. There is something so cool and casually fantastic about this look. It just looks like effortless fashion.

Favorite Piece: The Statement Necklace

Cheyenne goes grunge. I don’t care what anyone says. I LOVE the grunge look! I love the Smashing Pumpkins (thanks to the bestie Shanna) & Nirvana. I think the 90’s grunge look is making it’s way back, but it’s getting a little glam makeover this time around.

Favorite Piece: The Vintage Flannel Shirt

Diya is a great fashion blogger from Austin. She has some of the most eclectic fashion style of anyone I read, but it works for her. I’m really feeling this entire outfit because I’m loving the light, free, and beautifully pleated dress with the 80’s bling! I LOVE how the gold belt cinches her waist. She looks amazing!

Favorite Piece: Vintage Gold Belt

Anna Jane’s outfit is pretty simple. I mean we have all been rockin’ black tops and Khaki’s since the late 90’s Gap Commercials, but what puts it over the top is that necklace. It goes to show that placing a statement necklace with an otherwise normal outfit really really does a world of difference. Her outfit is great because it’s unfussy yet super chic.

Wish List:

Sorry there wasn’t a post yesterday because I was in Austin enjoying my day with the best friends ever. More about that in another post this week.

Today I’m catching up on all my blogs. One of my FAVORITE blogs is 5 inches or Higher (shoes your perve) and she was showcasing a new shoe site I hadn’t heard of before. Since I’m a shoe junkie I decided to check this out.  The site was ShoeGlamm.com.

I seriously need to go to shoe rehab because I have FALLEN in love. On the opening page I have met the new love of my life Colada-36 Raffia. How did I live life before this shoe?!

The ONLY thing I don’t like about this shoe? The laminate wood platform. It looks cheap, but then again… the shoe is only $26.

5” heel

1.25” Platform

I REALY shouldn’t get these shoes… but these will DEFIANTLY be on my wish list!

I Bling in My Screen Tee!

I finally uploaded a new video! Yeah! I will again next week. HINT… I’m doing my first haul since my shopping diet!

In this video I wanted to show you guys that you don’t always have to wear your T-Shirt with jeans or denim shorts. You can rock your tee with a cute skirt, business outfit, or even nice cuffed shorts. My video demonstrates all this for your.

Escape from Alcatraz!

I really love this first look because it shows that you are both down to earth and fashionable by pairing a reconstructed tee with a tiered skirt and cinch belt. I consider this American Rock couture (yes, I know I just made that up) It’s such a simple look, but people will think it took hours for you to get ready. If you want to learn how I reconstructed this shirt clickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk HERE!

T-Shirt from Chinatown, San Francisco

I Started That Trend

This is a style you can take to the bank! Well, at least to the office. I know a lot of people do not normally wear t-shirts at work, but one really can. All you have to do it pair your shirt with a nice pair of pants, some nice shoes shoes, and accessories… and you have yourself a look. I think wearing a t-shirt to work makes you look fun and more approachable. This looks works for the office because your shirt is simple and doesn’t take away from you or your work. The color palatte only contains two colors, red and white.  So this will give you a nice even look.  To take this look one step further rock it with a blazer!

T-Shirt from Forever21

Spiderman! Spiderman!

I LOVE this tee! I defintally do not wear it enough! It’s such a nice soft cotton and so easy to get lost in. Whenever I wear this shirt I always try and make it extra femme. In this case I paired this shirt with pinstriped cuffed shorts, long elegant earrings, and a very worn leather belt. This look works because the color motif of different shades of brown compliments each other. The wedges really bring it together because it has every single brown used from the tee and the shorts.

T-Shirt from Target

So I challenge everyone to find ways to wear your T-shirts this week WITHOUT wearing jeans! If you do, please send me a photo or link me to your blog!

Heres to a great Sunday and even better week!
