For the record… there was more than 2 Guns in that movie…

DSC_7705-Edit

So Tam and I went to the movies Friday because I have about 5 Groupons to Studio Movie Grill that I needed to burn in the next 6 days. We went to see 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Marky Mark. While it wasn’t the worst movie in the world it wasn’t shooting for any Oscar noms wither. To be fair I would watch it again. It was a fun anti-buddy movie. I had a great time with it and Mark Wahlberg is just so charismatic on screen. You could tell the pair had a ton of fun while filming this movie. I found myself smiling through the whole things because of the interaction between the duo.  If you have a chance to see it I would say that it definitely worth the price of admission.

About we week ago I dropped $21 and ordered this necklace and a pair of earrings. While, I was just expecting one pair of earrings I was given three by the company. While that is great I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. Not only does it feel cheap it looks even cheaper in person. I hate to be brutally honest but I would never purchase another item from this store again.

Happy New Years Everybody!

DSC_0098

WOW! Didn’t 2012 just go BY! It’s amazing! Well, 2013 has started off excellent… well kinda…

I hosted a New Years Eve/Birthday Party. Well, when the clock stroked midnight the whole group and I went down to watch the firework show going on in Victory Park. Well, Jax decided that he wanted to join us too. My friend Tam Tam was holding Jax while the fireworks show was going. Jax started FREAKING THE HELL OUT and clawed her so bad that she dropped him and he ran away. Mind you, I live downtown and it was New Years so all the parking lots where full of cars! We looked EVERYWHERE for this dog. I knew we would find him, but when 5 minutes turned into 10 then turned into 15, then it’s 20 I started having visions of my life without Jax… I was so sad. However we found Jax about 30 minutes later! He had run back home to my building and was hiding under one of the cars! A friend of a neighbor found him. Tam Tam had to pull him out from under the car because he was still so frightened.

I was so happy to have him back again!

Yes, I’m sure you’re wondering why he wasn’t on a leash. Jax is actually pretty well behaved without a leash… and he obeys commands really well so I reward him by not placing him on a leash. This helps me because I hate the leash anyway… and Jax likes it because he has the freewill to walk and run around as long as he knows he’s in my eyesight.

I guess the fireworks tripped him out. I’m but blessed he knows where home is.

Other than that tiny mishap I had a quaint and fantastic party surrounded by great friends and family! So of course I included a photo diary. LOLOL Since WordPress has changed how you can place pictures in your blog (THANK GOODNESS) I will be doing many more photo diaries! I hope you guys like them.

Mayans Say What?!

Mayan Calendar

Are you guys ready? We only have three more days left on planet earth. What are you going to wear? LOL. I actually have an End of the World Soiree that night and I’m supposed to dress extra fancy. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should wear? I’m thinking super tight, tall heels, and extra extra extra glam! LOL! I never get to be super glam, ever!

I guess I’ll be trolling my favorite bloggers and Pintrest for some inspirations for this Friday’s events.

Enough about me! Here are your top 9 Fashion Bloggers of this week!

For my end of the world gathering I really want to embody what Jamie is wearing in this photo. Of course I would Korin-it up. I would add ridiculous HUGE jewels, and super tall shoes… because that’s how I roll. I do appreciate the simplicity in this dress, and that’s why I think it deserves top spot. There is something in the saying that, “less is more.”

I really like Lisa’s style because she looks perpetually adorable. She always looks like a doll that I want to dress up and down. There is no exception here. This is another good End of the World Party look as well. She and I share the same love for huge gawky jewelry. There is NOTHING wrong with that! Perhaps I should check out Forever21 to see if they have any cute dresses like Lisa did in this look. Do you think she’ll let me borrow her Prada shoes for my shindig?

Doesn’t she look like a sexy version of a toy soilder? This would be another great look I would wear to the party. Is it super fancy? No. However, it is fun and isn’t that the most important thing about fashion? Also, she picked up the vest from Forever21. So perhaps a stop inside of that store is a necessary evil.

04: Walk in Wonderland

Honestly, if I had my way… this look is exactly what I would wear to the event. I love oversized sweatshirt, ripped jeans, aviator lens, and heels.

Ladies, for the record… mea love off the shoulder sweaters. There is something simple and sexy in that.

05: Dapper Lou

By now you all know that I LOVE a man that can dress. There is something about urban street style that really turns me on. This pull is no exception. I like how he wears a varsity jacket under a short peacoat. He keeps it simple in jeans but dapper with that Gucci backpack. I wonder what he’s carrying in there.

06: Cheetah is the new Black

I know… this looks a lot like Walk in Wonderland… but she’s wearing a blazer! A winter white blazer to boot! Yes, I really do like that Kate Spade pouch as well. Fashion at its finest.

I won’t lie. When I saw those sunglasses I thought they were super expensive (based on the way this girl dresses). However, I clicked on the link to check out the price and to my delight these sunglasses where only $10! Can you believe that?! So I’m looking further on the site and I see that you can purchase three pairs for $13.50. So you know what I did? Yup, I purchased those three pair for $13.50. LOLOL.

I have no idea what in the world is drawing me to this outfit… perhaps it’s the fact I secretly love the Canadian Tuxedo… or mayhaps that I’m secretly a self deprecating hipster where all I want to do is wear a fedora. I have no idea what it could be, but I just love it.

While I don’t think you will ever catch me rocking a look like this I can appreciate how it looks on her.

Who was your favorite look this week?

This is what I wore to Shanna’s housewarming party about six weeks ago. I know. I’m JUST getting around to it.

Well, to be honest this isn’t EXACTLY what I wore. The only thing I modified was the top.   The top is a newly acquired purchase from Ross about a week ago.    The original top was also a tank, but it was more traditional.  This is a awesome ass lace top!

You guys know how much I have been ranting and raving about wanting a white lace top. Well, I finally have it and I cannot wait to wear the heck out of this thing!  I will let you know now… you’ll be seeing a lot of it in the future.

Yeah, I’m going to do it – I’m going to drop a Vogue cover right after K does, and say that mine is a better choice. Don’t get me wrong, I like Scarlett Johannson; however, I miss Lost in Translation Scarlett. I want the awesome, funny, intellectual, hesitant woman back. So instead of trying to make her into something she no longer is, I found a new muse – Emma Stone.

Now tell me that this woman is not ridiculously awesome. She is effortlessly beautiful, incredibly funny, graceful and she lives her life without drama. That is a woman I can get behind. And with Mario Testino (totally the master) looking through the lens, these photos are truly works of art. Here’s to you Emma.

Dallas has Style

I love the husband and wife team, Kristi & Scot Redman, from D StyleStreet. Not only are they incredible photographers they have some of the best taste in photographing fashion in Dallas.

Typically I don’t post on Sundays, but I HAD to showcase this beautifully executed video from the Smoking Haute collection at DIFFA Dallas.

This video is a lot of things… and fun is at the top of the list.

Check out Kristi and Scot blog HERE!

I know… I know… you’re welcomed

Keepin’ It Country

From the moment Johanna landed in the Lone Star State she has been DYING to get her hands on authentic American Cowboy boots.  Her wish was finally granted.  Johanna went to Wild Bills Western and $200 later walked out with some gorgeous boots! I have been trying to highlight these boots FOREVER, but just FINALLY got around to it.

The main reason i’m showcasing them now is because Johanna wanted to do a Western shoot with a cowboy hat and some western boots.  We found the hat last weekend and did the shoot this past Sunday at the Running of the Bulls statue in Dallas.  I will TRY and post the pictures tomorrow because I want to post the YouTube video up of her Cowboy Cowgirl Outfit of the day.  The boots are just a taste of heaven.

If you guys are in Dallas and want to purchase boots from a knowledgable seller (I mean this guy almost knew the name of the cow the leather came from) then go to Wild Bills Western located in the West End.

Johanna LOVES the smell of new leather! LOL
