Worst Dressed at the 2013 Met Gala

This list may be coming at you a tad bit premature… but listen, I gotta go to work tomorrow and I need to be functional. So I wanted to present to you my list of the Worst Dressed at the 2013 Met Gala.

Yes, I know the theme of this year’s ball was ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ so that’s why a lot of the looks are a bit out there… but with or without the theme I’m still going to cast my #humbleopinion.

Unlike most post I’m not placing anyone in any particular order. I’m just using the numbering system to keep me straight.

01: January Jones

January Jones looks like a character out of the 6th element. No. Not in a good way. She is wearing a Chanel Couture dress. It’s not that I’m not feeling the dress it’s that her hair and make up is throwing me all off. However, her shoe game is fantastic. I am feeling those Nicolas Kirkwood booties!

02: Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj 2013 Met Gala Tommy Hilfiger 02 "PUNK: Chaos To Couture" Costume Institute Gala

So it’s not that Nicki Minaj looks bad… she looks BORING! This is a theme she would have demolished, but instead she came half assed. On top of that I am not feeling that dress at all… and not to talk about people, but didn’t she used to be a totally different complexion? Or am I making that up? Anywho… I have to say that her make up is look grade A. The dress is by Tommy Hilfiger.

03: Allison Williams

So ummmm… not feeling this outfit. Yes, it has more character than Nicki’s but what else can I say? Maybe because her makeup was so dull for this dress. I have no idea. Dress by Altuzarra.

04: Katy Perry

Katy Perry 2013 Met Gala Dolce and Gabbana

As far as the while punk thing goes I think Katy Perry nailed it, but I didn’t  like the dress. It didn’t have anything to do with the actual design… I just don’t think it looked good on her. I’m not feeling the poofy ends either.

05: Madonna

Madonna Met Gala 2013 Givenchy

Madonna lived through the punk era and nailed it with the outfit, but not with that Anna Wintour mets Wednesday Adams wig. Ew. Dress by Givenchy.

06: Elle Fanning

If the theme was 90’s raver meets 70’s hippie Elle Fanning would have hit the nail right on the head. I guess I can’t be too mad at her… she was only born 2 years ago. I need to be mad at the person who let her walk out of the house with that dumb eye thing she has going. Dress by Rodarte.

07: Mary Katrantzou

Ummm… I’m 100% sure this isn’t punk. More like 70’s po—– I won’t even go there. I just in case you are wondering who she is, she is a former Victoria’s Secret model. Dress by Mary Katrantzou.

08: Nina Dobrev

"PUNK: Chaos To Couture" Costume Institute Gala

So ummm… this happened… in a Monique Lhuillier outfit.

09: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West

So…. She dressed up like wallpaper… I mean this chick wore a turtleneck dress with matching gloves. I can forgive the print but I cannot forgive her stylist. Kanye West looks so dayum boring. Givenchy… both of them

10: Miley Cyrus

"PUNK: Chaos To Couture" Costume Institute Gala

She is 110% punked. I can appreciate that, but she still looks like her finger got stuck in a socket. Marc Jacobs

11: Lauren Santo Domingo

It’s like Queen Mary got into a fist fight with a Harajuku girl while wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

Who was the worst on your list?

01: Julianne Moore

2013 Worst Dress SAG Awards

Should have stuck with Lavin. Their dresses may be boring but at least they make you look good. I’m sorry but I just think Chanel is overrated… case in point, Exhibit A. The dress just looks like it had a bad case of the patch work. It’s way too low cut for her build. Someone should have told her something before she left the house.

02: Kaley Cuoco

2013 Worst Dress SAG Awards

It was hard to choose who was going to take the number one spot. Kaley came in at a VERY close second. There was no reason she should have worn this 50’s inspired red dress on the RED carpet. I’m not sure if I know where the dress ends and the carpet begins. *ugh* What made her think that those red velvet looking shoes was a good idea?! And that hair. SERIOUSLY?! SER-IOUS-LY?! Where are your TRUE friends when you need them??? They should have never let you walked out of the house looking like this.

Honey, no… and I mean no. The hair, the dress, the Makeup. Get a gander at the original dress. Had she worn that with her hair down and wavy it would have been a hit.

04: Freida Pinto

Frieda… you’re going to a red carpet event, not a holiday office party. What is going on with her hair? The bangs look cute but I am not a fan of the length. The dress does nothing to support he haircut either. I know Feida has a banging body. Why didn’t she opt for a more skinny hugging dress? She looks so dumpy in this look.

05: Claire Danes

2013 Worst Dress SAG Awards

No, I am not saying the Givenchy gown isn’t gorgeous. I’m just saying that I doesn’t look right on Claire. Geez… I know comfort is key, but sometime you gotta suck it up for fashion. Better luck next time doll face.

06: Ellie Kemper

2013 Worst Dress SAG Awards

Gawsh, where do I start with this one? Lets point out the obvious, her skin is just oily. I know it gets all shade of hot out there, but seriously, being oily on a red carpet is so novice. Now, this is another case where the dress isn’t ugly, it’s just not right. I am a fan of Reem Acra gowns, but her stylist should have known this dress was going to be too light for her complexion. I personally would have done for a more bold color, hot pink, warm orange, or even a warm grey. I will say that her accessory game is on point. Ellie you’re gorgeous and young. Next time dress like it.

07: Anne Hathaway

2013 Worst Dress SAG Awards

You guys know that Anne is my girl, but one must be fair when it comes to fashion. Honey, you should not have worn this. You’re lucky you have a face that can pull off just about anything. If I were Anne I would have just torn off the tulle. The dress looks amazing enough without all that extra work. Anne has a body to pull that off too.

OMFG! Three post in less than 24 hours! I think I’m on a roll! I’m just so into writing at this moment, so you guys better eat it up! Haha! So I’m going to be discussing what was worn to the 2010 Emmys. I’m just going to do my FIVE FAVORITE dresses and the FIVE WORST dresses of the night. This is strictly my opinion. No one is in any particular order… Except for Heidi Klum.   This woman is in a league of her own! Yes it may be a little unfair that she has a body of a Greek Goddess and is a certified supermodel, but this bitch brought it!

Best Dressed

Heidi Klum

ONLY Heidi Klum could sport a little black dress to one of the grandest award events of the year. Mrs. Klum wore a black Marchesa dress to the 2010 Emmy awards. She. Looked. FLAWLESS. I loved EVERYTHING about her that night. Her hair, make-up, and jewelry was ON POINT. Heidi Klum wins best dress of the night.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes was unrecognizable, in a good way. I loved the Armani Prive dress that she wore to the ceremony. Perez Hilton states that, “the dress was over the top.” However I believe this dress was a FANTASTIC choice. It screams “I’m here to be seen bitches!” It was a great choice from all the boring dark dresses that of these ceremonies.

Dianne Argon

Dianne Argon

Dianna Argon was perfection. She showed that lace is not for grandmothers. The young woman modeled how free, beautiful, and vibrant lace can be. Everything was perfection about her. The hair, the dress, and make-up. She did justice to this Carolina Herrerra dress.

Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev was on FIRE in this peach Zuhair Murad dress. I know a lot of people are up and down about this dress, but let me tell you this girl hit the nail RIGHT on the head with this one! This is another dress that proved that lace can be fun and young. The color was a superb choice, and I LOVED the long slit that revealed her long beautiful legs. The ONLY complaint I have was the dress was a bit too long. I think the dress should have stopped at the ankle.

Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling showed up wearing a black Aguri Sagimon dress. I LOVE this dress. Homegirl thought outside the box on this one. There are soooo many people hating on her for wearing this piece but I think it looked good. She rocked it!

The Worst Dress…

Lo Bosworth

Lo Bosworth sported a Karen Caldwell dress. This was a HORRIBLE choice for her. First of all, you are attending the EMMYS not a 1950’s Saturday picnic. Go put on a REAL dress for this occasion. Second, the dress is much too old for her. While the dress needed to be put to sleep her accessories were to DIE for! That ring and the bracelet saved her taste in fashion. Lo, we all know you can do better than this. Hopefully you have a chance next year to redeem yourself.

Stephanie Pratt

As long as we are on the subject of The Hills alum, lets talk about Stephanie Pratt. I personally like the child HOWEVER Stephanie looks like she’s ready to hit a night club in St. Louis, Missouri, not a glamorous red carpet event in California. Stephanie sported a dress designed by Guess, and while I do kinda like the piece it was NOT appropriate to the Emmys. The dress would have better been serviced at the MTV music awards.

January JonesJanuary Jones

While I LOVE January Jones’s name, I HATED this dress. Ms Jones wore a Versace piece. I will give her an “E” for effort, but a “D” for disaster! While I LOVE the color and the potential concept of this dress. It failed. I hated the 1980’s Madonna vibe on this one. Everyone tires to pull the Madonna thing, but ONLY Madonna can do it. You can’t pull that mess at the Emmys in a metallic blue dress. Better luck next year hunny.  I also hated the  “just got outta bed” hair.

Keri Russell

Keri Russell wore a breezy pink Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture dress. While I LOVE the color of the dress… it’s boring. Nothing special about it, and I’m surprised anyone let her on the red carpet. Homegirl didn’t even try.

Christina Hendricks wore a lilac Zac Posen Dress. I hated it. She looked like a bird. That is all.
