Wonderland Boudoir Dallas_-24

I love my clients and I love when they allow me to show off their beautiful their photos.  This week I want to showcase Maria.

Wonderland Boudoir, Dallas, Austin

Maria has an attitude that shines brighter than the sun.  I had the pleasure or meeting Maria through Jazzy, one of the main make-up artist I collaborate with.  Jazzy has worked with Maria in the past and knew that her personality and attitude would fall into sync with our vision of this project.

I love shooting in places that people don’t see the potential in.  One must look for beauty everywhere.  In Dallas there is a whole in the wall spot that looks like a falling Spanish community and I had been dying to shoot there.  Right now Dallas is going through a building renaissance. The city is tearing down buildings with character to put up highrises.  I needed to move quickly because I knew it was only certain amount of time before someone would tear down this unique area.

Originally we were only going to have a session outside the building, but when we go there it turns out that someone forgot to lock the gate… we went into the middle of this community and had a party.  It was so beautiful.  This place has probably been long forgotten. Faded turquoise doors, cleared out rooms, and uncompleted projects laced the property.  When we got there all I saw was potential.  The three of use wasted no time getting some amazing photos for this project.

The first look was experimental.  High wasted black panties, a beautiful lacy bra, leather jacket, and spiked heels.  Trust, putting together this outfit was just as fun as shooting it.  I wanted to create an editorial boudoir session.  My aim is to always show that women can be both sexy and strong. Maria was able embrace this ideology and bring it to life in this series.  I couldn’t have imagined a better result.

Next we took out one of my FAVORITE dresses and heels.  I love color in photos  and therefore a graffiti background near the Bishop art District was a great spot.

The last location was probably the funniest spot of all that day.  These photos were taken in the middle of the day on a Sunday afternoon.  For years I have fantasized about shooting a model next to an Ice Cream truck and I was able to get that.  The Ice Cream man was more than happy to oblige to our request.  I mean c’mon.  What man wouldn’t be happy to have a beautiful girl in luxury lingerie standing next to his truck eating a Popsicle?  You as the model, when would you ever have the opportunity to do the same thing?  In this life we have to live it to the most.  Do unconventional things and have fun with it.  This is what we did that Sunday.

I have to thank Maria and Jazzy for such an amazing session that day.  It was such a blast and I can’t wait to work with more ladies in the future who just want to have fun!

I told you guys that I loved this shirt. Now, to be honest, the previous post this week that featured this top was done over two weeks ago. It wasn’t like I wore the shirt Monday and then wore it again on Wednesday. I am bold, but I’m not that bold. LOL

I wanted to showcase how this top can be both casual and corporate. Many places of business don’t allow the shoulders to be seen, but I work in the tech industry so the rules are more relaxed. In all honestly I could rock jeans and sneakers every day to work as long as I looked kept.

Really, the only thing I changed was the pants and how I rocked the shirt. In my previous post I paired the blouse with skinny jeans and left the top untucked. Here I have the shirt tucked and I’m rocking my favorite editor pants from Express.

This shirt has to be one of my favorite purchases from this summer. The versatility is amazing and I plan on wearing it until the last bitter ray of sunshine has dissipated.

Cool Necklace!

Tribal wooden bead necklace

I found this really unique wooden bead necklace bib at Strut during thier 40% sale during Fourth of July weekend (from $21 to $13).  While the rest of my outfit wasn’t anything to write home about I really wanted to show off this piece.

Yes, I actually have a number of outfits to showcase but I have been having OS issues with my comp and the BCOD (blue screen of death) is becoming more and more common these days.  I have to back errrrrrrything up on an external drive in the event my laptop decides he wants to chunk the deuces on me.  It’s crazy because I have had this laptop for six years and everyone freaks out when I tell them I have had a laptop last that long.

I take great care of my electronics.

Plus it’s a Dell.  I find all their products dependable.

Here’s a sneak peak about tomorrows post… bee excitedddddddd!!!

Corina from Shoedazzle

Since I have a bit of discretionary income I thought  I should reward myself.  So I spurged and buy some new shoes… and by spurged I mean I spent $13.02 for these new kicks.

Yes, I’m a super shopper!

So I’m going to take a page out of Lisa’s book and doing a shoe reveal. I LOVE when Lisa does shoe reveals on her blog, but her shoes typically cost about a billion times more than mine would.

Okay… here we go!

I love the color of Shoedazzle boxes!

Yes!  I have super big feet.  Which is good cuz NO ONE can borrow shoes from me!

I love how Shoedazzle glams their products up with these dust bags.  I have countless amounts of them and have never used them.  DSC_0740

There she is!  Corina!  This is a heeless wedge shoe.  I wasn’t going to rock this trend, but when I I found I could cop them for $13.02 (including shipping) then I was all aboard the heeless wedge express!  CHOO!  CHOO!DSC_0742

There they go!DSC_0744 DSC_0748 DSC_0750 DSC_0752 DSC_0753

They are actually VERY easy to walk in.  I wanted to rock them last night at a pub crawl, but it has been raining like cats and dogs in Dallas recently and I resisted the urge to do so… because I didn’t want to fall on my face and look like an ass.  However, I will probably be rocking them around July 04th weekend.  I will be heading home to Austin for an extended stay and will have plenty of time to showcase the hell outta them.

I hope you guys liked this reveal! If so I will try and do more when/if I buy anymore shoes. My shoe closet is at full capacity right now.

What do you guys think about the heelless wedge trend?

Happy Sunday Funday!

I sported this look on Monday to work (09.10.12).  I RARELY get to wear the necklace or shoes because of the intense color of purple.  However, they are some of my favorite articles in my clothing arsenel.  Since the necklace is a choker to make it look less ’90’s -ish I paired it with a thin turtleneck sweater I picked up from Express some years a go.  This is actually one of my FAVORITE shirts.  It’s so soft and comfy!  I wish I could wear it everyday!
