Wonderland Boudoir Dallas_-24

I love my clients and I love when they allow me to show off their beautiful their photos.  This week I want to showcase Maria.

Wonderland Boudoir, Dallas, Austin

Maria has an attitude that shines brighter than the sun.  I had the pleasure or meeting Maria through Jazzy, one of the main make-up artist I collaborate with.  Jazzy has worked with Maria in the past and knew that her personality and attitude would fall into sync with our vision of this project.

I love shooting in places that people don’t see the potential in.  One must look for beauty everywhere.  In Dallas there is a whole in the wall spot that looks like a falling Spanish community and I had been dying to shoot there.  Right now Dallas is going through a building renaissance. The city is tearing down buildings with character to put up highrises.  I needed to move quickly because I knew it was only certain amount of time before someone would tear down this unique area.

Originally we were only going to have a session outside the building, but when we go there it turns out that someone forgot to lock the gate… we went into the middle of this community and had a party.  It was so beautiful.  This place has probably been long forgotten. Faded turquoise doors, cleared out rooms, and uncompleted projects laced the property.  When we got there all I saw was potential.  The three of use wasted no time getting some amazing photos for this project.

The first look was experimental.  High wasted black panties, a beautiful lacy bra, leather jacket, and spiked heels.  Trust, putting together this outfit was just as fun as shooting it.  I wanted to create an editorial boudoir session.  My aim is to always show that women can be both sexy and strong. Maria was able embrace this ideology and bring it to life in this series.  I couldn’t have imagined a better result.

Next we took out one of my FAVORITE dresses and heels.  I love color in photos  and therefore a graffiti background near the Bishop art District was a great spot.

The last location was probably the funniest spot of all that day.  These photos were taken in the middle of the day on a Sunday afternoon.  For years I have fantasized about shooting a model next to an Ice Cream truck and I was able to get that.  The Ice Cream man was more than happy to oblige to our request.  I mean c’mon.  What man wouldn’t be happy to have a beautiful girl in luxury lingerie standing next to his truck eating a Popsicle?  You as the model, when would you ever have the opportunity to do the same thing?  In this life we have to live it to the most.  Do unconventional things and have fun with it.  This is what we did that Sunday.

I have to thank Maria and Jazzy for such an amazing session that day.  It was such a blast and I can’t wait to work with more ladies in the future who just want to have fun!

Scarf & Ray-Ban Sunglasses

Ray-Bans, Aviators, Scarf, UrbanOutfitters

There are two things that you will catch me wearing everyday of the week.  That is a scarf and a pair of Ray-Bans.  These two items alone can make any outfit look super chic and urban glam in less than 7 seconds.  If you ever think your outfit needs a little extra umff (yeah I just made that up) then throw on a nice scarf and some killer Ray-Bans.  Yes, Ray-Ban run expensive, but trust me you will love these for the rest of your life.  I was converted because the quality and make of Ray-Bans are second to none.  Check out Ideeli if you are looking to save of them.  They  have Ray-Bans on SUPER FLASH SALES between $109-$180.  If you guys know Ray-Bans that’s a steal.

A Beer Sweater on a Cold Day

Aldo, Urban Outfitter, Budweiser Sweater, Guess Earrings

Holy Moly Guacamole!

Yes, I brought it back to second grade. LOL. But man it was sooooo cold on Saturday. I will tell you one thing…. Texas is a pure TRIP when it comes to the weather. I didn’t take too much time with these photos, but I wanted to get them done because I haven’t done an OOTD post in awhile. I really wanted to go all out and make a cool video, but it was too cold to put any extra effort into the outfit of the day. If the weather is any better this coming week I will try and put some effort in doing cool videos to show off the outfit.

The coat is one I picked up at Bloomingdales Outlet. It is by S13/NYC. I went over my budget to purchase this coat, but I figured the extra money was worth it. This is the only coat I really own. I’m in Texas and so when it gets colder than 75 degrees I’m wearing a parka. I have found that most coats don’t keep me warm and I have to really layer up under them. However this coat is made of feathers (sorry Peta) and it keeps me EXTRA warm. What really sold the jacket was the cinch effect with the belt. It makes my waist look thin and what girl doesn’t like that?

The sweater and jeans came from Urban Outfitters. I picked up the jeans for $5 and the Budweiser sweater for $10. Don’t be jelly. The sweater is actually a men’s but I found it in a small and it works perfectly.

The shoes and handbag are Black Friday finds. The handbag is so chic with the hardware and I know I’m going to wear the heels off the new pumps. I love the sexy silhouette of the shoe. Trust me, I will be rocking these kicks at S’s Chinese New Year gathering in February.

Big. Ass. Sale.

Since I’m so busy during the week I always read my sale emails and blog subscription every Sunday, but Friday I was off and was able to get a head start on my favorite part of the weekend. Now if you are subscribed to notifications from Urban Outtfitters then you already know they are having a BIG. ASS. SALE (their words, not mine) so I finally opened one of their emails and was happy to find they have some very cute summer dresses available. Below are my top choices. Since the Devil is in the detail I had to show you the front and the back.

 Movie Maven

Last night Jo, my friend, and I went to see the movie New Years Eve. Honestly, if you want to see that movie I would HIGHLY suggest you wait until the DVD is at Redbox. That movie is NOT worth seeing for full price.

Last night was not a cold as it has been in North Texas. It was about 50 degrees. Thirty degrees less than where I like it to be, but I guess I can handle this.

I really love wearing dual scarves lately. I wear two scarves because it keeps my neck warmer and it just looks fuller.
